Eligibility and agreement

Royalties apply to accepted, licensed, monetized content under an accepted creator agreement. There is no upfront content purchase fee. Membership or submission alone does not guarantee acceptance or earnings.

The standard allocation below applies when incorporated into the creator’s accepted royalty agreement. A specifically negotiated signed agreement may provide different commercial terms. Earned balances are not forfeited merely because membership later expires.

The standard creator share: 30%

For each paying Viewer member, 30% of that member’s eligible net revenue for the period is allocated among the monetized creators the member actually watches, in proportion to qualified watch time. We total those member-level allocations to calculate each creator’s royalty.

The remaining 70% supports delivery, storage, review, support, development, and the platform’s operating margin. Creator membership fees are service revenue and are not included in this royalty calculation. Viewing included with Creator memberships does not contribute Viewer membership revenue. A period with no qualified viewing produces no royalty allocation for that member.

What eligible net revenue means

Eligible net revenue is Viewer membership revenue actually collected and attributable to the period, less applicable sales or consumption taxes, actual app-store or payment-processing charges, refunds, chargebacks, and directly related currency-conversion charges. The same cost must not be deducted twice. General payroll, marketing, or overhead is not an additional deduction from the royalty base.

An annual payment is allocated over its 12-month service term, with proportional allocation for partial periods. Receiving a full year’s payment does not make the whole amount payable as royalties immediately. Discounts, refunds, and reversed payments affect the eligible amount, with documented corrections on statements.

Qualified watch time

Qualified time is verified foreground playback by a valid paying Viewer member on eligible content. For royalty allocation, each second of an episode counts at most once for that viewer in the accounting month. Pauses, buffering, background or unattended playback, preview clips, and repeated loops do not increase qualified time.

Self-viewing, linked or controlled accounts used to benefit the creator, bots, bought or incentivized engagement, stolen-payment activity, and other artificial viewing are excluded. A suspicious signal should be investigated proportionately; IP sharing alone does not prove fraud. Likes and raw view totals can help discovery but do not generate payment by themselves.

Example of the calculation

If a member has US$3.00 of eligible net revenue in a month, the creator allocation for that member is US$0.90. If 60% of their qualified watch time is for Creator A and 40% for Creator B, A receives US$0.54 and B receives US$0.36.

This is an illustration, not a guaranteed rate. Actual monthly allocations depend on collected revenue, payment charges, the member’s valid viewing, and the applicable agreement.

Statements, timing, and tax

Royalty statements should identify the period, eligible revenue allocation, qualified activity, adjustments, and amount payable. Standard payments are due within 45 days after the accounting month ends once the verified payable balance reaches US$50 and required payout and tax information is complete. Smaller balances carry forward.

Required tax withholding and disclosed third-party payout or currency costs may affect the amount received. There is no additional OzuReel fee just to release an earned balance. On account closure, legitimate outstanding balances remain payable under the agreement and applicable law, rather than being forfeited for falling below a routine threshold.

Fraud reviews, corrections, and appeals

We may temporarily hold the specific amount reasonably affected by suspected fraud, invalid traffic, a payment reversal, or a rights dispute. We provide reasons where lawful, seek relevant evidence, review the hold, and release or correct it when resolved. An investigation is not an unrestricted right to keep unrelated valid earnings.

Raise statement questions at legal@ozureel.com, preferably within 90 days, including the period and issue. This administrative window does not shorten mandatory statutory rights. Material rate changes apply prospectively with required notice and acceptance; earned royalties are not reduced by a later policy change.
